After not having used this program for a while, today when I opened it only shows 18 programs that are installed instead of 180 programs. Why?

marthe224, first, make sure that you have the latest MyUninstaller v1.65 version, dated Feb. 11, 2010.

Then, go to View and make sure all entries in the Show section are checked.

Mine shows 428 entries in the main window.

If you, by any chance, enabled "Quick Mode" (in "View" menu), then MyUninstaller will read the list of software from an .ini file insead of rescanning the registry.
    From MyUninstaller help file -

Quick mode is not checked. Of the 18 programs showing, all but one of them show installation dates of 2/9/10 or 2/11/10

MyUninstaller does not store any software list (unless you force it by selecting "Quick Mode"), it gets the info on software from the registry, then launches appropriate 3rd party uninstaller. Check if you have any MyUninstaller.ini file in the directory. If you do, delete it.
If this doesn't help, then you have other issues on the PC. Are you under a limited account? What does Windows Add/Remove applet say?

I do not understand. If this program gets its info from the registry why isn't it showing more of my programs?

marthe224, as Seer suggested, does Add or Remove, via the Control Panel, show all your programs?

Thank you to everyone who tried to help me. I fixed the problem by using system restore to go back before I guessed the problem occurred and all is now well. I think that I somehow damaged the registry. All the programs show in both my add and remove list in windows XP and also in Nirsoft's MyUninstaller.

... & a thanks for this thread to remind me to update MyUninstaller,
as well as remind me that I need to refresh now & then
because I do use the "Quick View" function.

I find it especially useful the way MyUninstaller shows even the hour:seconds time of installs,
not just the date like Revo does - even tho' I prefer Revo for the rest of its Registry-scouring abilities.

now, if I can just understand the ins-&-outs of Martau's "Total Uninstall",
I'll begin to feel like I know something about the OS innards :argh:
