I can't seem to get to the internet (IE) after installing NOD32 V2 Beta. I am using xp sp1, adsubtract, cookie pal, promomitron, ZAP 3.5.169. IE is trying to connect to ip address: 127.0.0.1 when all programs are running. When I close adsubtract, cookie pal, promomitron, ZAP 3.5.169, it trys to connect to ip address: 66.111.104.94. I have to uninstall the beta version to access the internet. Can some help? I really like to give the beta a test run. Thanks

    Hi Passintime:

First, I have to say I have not tried NOD Beta, so am unsure as to what exactly that part of the problem is.

IP 127.0.0.1 is your OWN PC addy, I don't mean your internet address itself, but your PC's internal address.

The other belongs to NeoSpire Inc. Is that your homepage or?

Adsubtract runs on it's own proxy btw, on Port 4444.

So I think that a combination of ALL those programs plus the BETA version of NOD is causing you this headache. [Obviously]

Try to shut down each program one at a time starting with Adsubtract but leave NOD running and see what happens. Unless you alrady have tried that and you only get connection without NOD at all.

I know this is not helpful to your particular problem, but at least you know where it's trying to connect to, etc. and you may have to wait until NOD is publicly released in final version and see what happens.

Maybe someone else can help out with some setting within NOD itself, could be as simple as that.

Hi TD. the ip 66.111.104.94 is what IE trys to link to when all above mentioned programs are closed. The other is the the for adsubtract and proxomitron. I've tried everything and for some odd reason can't get to the net unless I uninstall the beta. It have something to do with having adsubtract, Proxomitron or ZAP. I even tried to install it with nothing running in the background and still no go. Sounds like I'll have to wait for the real deal. I was just wondering if anyone knew what could be causing it. Thanks passintime

(This is really wierd. I just entered the ip as http://66.111.104.94 and it goes to www.hotsheet.com, which is my designated home page for IE.)

I doubt that it is this simple, but still....you said you have tried disabling ad/subtract and proxo in the background and still can't get on the internet if NOD32 beta is running. Did you remember to take out the proxy redirection for IE? I mean, IE will not connect to the internet if you have proxo and ad/subtract chained as two proxies (or if you have Proxo set up to manage both proxies) and then turn off the proxies without unchecking "use a proxy server" in IE/tools/internet options/connections/dialup seetings/settings/use a proxy server/advanced or if you have cable modem its lan settings instead of dialup.

I'm curious why you use ad/subtract AND Proxo? Proxo will filter the ads and handle cookies, etc. Ad/subtract is built on licensed Proxo code, but can't do nearly as much as Proxo. Why do you feel you need both? Using both chained together will slow your internet connection.

Hi Melo, thanks for the response. The only way that I can access the internet on my pentium 4 is shut down IMON. Nothing else works. For some odd reason, it works on my Atlon with all the same programs. I don't think it is xp sp1 though. I am using both programs because I purchased adsubtract before I found out about proxomitron..Thanks for the help.p
