    Hi All,

I was having trouble removing a trojan and thought I'd download a trial of NOD32 AntiVirus to see if it would work. I ran a quick scan and it detected some stuff which I selected to delete. It told me it needed to restart so I did and now the laptop is in a reboot cycle before it hits the windows login screen.

I think the Trojan ended in NA or NAZ.

Any pointers on how to get the laptop back up and running? At this point I'd be happy just lifting some files off and re-installing the OS, I haven't had much luck with msse, avg, avast, spybot and now nod32 has bricked it.

    Any help greatly appreciated!

btw, ive tried restarting in all the various safe mode options, it just reboots. :'(

    sounds like a rootkit
You've tried to boot from a clean medium as ESET SysRescue CD?

From the article I posted earlier in post #2: http://www.freedrweb.com/?lng=en Dr. Web CureIt Free version is your best bet download from another computer and make the CD and Run it on the infected one!

Assuming your OS is not bricked enough to run a removal tool.
Select on of the removal tools here from the dropdown menu on the right of the screen, select those that you suspected may have been the cause of your infection

Thanks, I'm going to make this CD and try it tonight, I take it I should boot up using this and then try one of the online scanners to find out exactly what I have? Is that right?

The CD will check for infections and clean them and hopefully you will be able to boot up and running and online scanner would be good to do also!
