Amazon.uk changed and rechanged the price again. Increased and then decreased again.

    RRP: £149.99
    Price: £64.98
    You Save: £85.01 (57%)

Almost all other site have taken back the offer in last few days.

They don,t ship it to Saudi Arabai. But I was able to find a friend of mine in London who pre-ordered it for me on his UK address. Let,s see how it goes. I plan to use it in a VM for malware testing etc.

I have not used vista but as compared to XP I like win 7 more. Only thing i dislike is that it's little bit slow, but same problem is with vista too.
In my opinion it's best chance to get in such low price. I plan to use it in VM for testing.

I don't think it's junk.... but then again, I don't think it's much different from Vista..... certainly not worth the price to upgrade. I am also pretty certain that one can't do a "clean install" with the upgrade disk either, which would force me to buy the full version for twice the price. No thanks.....

I just came across a 90 days Windows7 Enterprise trial if anyone wants to take it for a spin before buying.

Caveat, if you decide to buy you need to reinstall the proper version.

Yeah likewise, it's pretty easy to transform XP to look like Vista/7 to achieve the same cleaner look plus XP has all the functionality i need. Actually, i replace virtually all the core MS features and tools with third party ones anyhow.

MS really did make XP "too good".

I personaly like Windows 7 it is much faster than XP on my machine, more responsive, more stable (no BSOD so far).
Windows 7 has many drivers built-in/download from MS directly - no more searching for drivers.
And at last I also like eye-candy new W7 layout :)

I have not preordered Windows 7, nor do I intend to. Windows XP Pro, SP 3 is working just fine for me. I am of the old school, if it isn't broken don't fix it.

I have XP on 2 computers and Vista on my favorite machine. I've tried Win7 for a while and liked it a lot. Having Vista, I won't get Win7 unless it is pre-installed on a new machine, I agree it isn't much different from Vista (only lighter).

For people who have used only XP, my suggestion would be to go with Win7 rather than Vista as it is lighter but still having all the features of Vista.

Better plan on January, I think that's when the RC starts shutting itself down every hour or so. It goes on like that till March, when apparently it dies altogether, but who wants to live with the shutdown stuff for 2 months?
