    Have you preordered windows 7?
please answer the poll state which version you preordered and why.
I preordered windows 7 Home premium because it has all the features i need and at the preorder price of £45 it seemed a good buy.

Yep, preordered Home Premium. The extra cost for Pro or Ultimate
wasn't worth it to me as Premium has everything I need.

No. Not even on Vista, let alone Win 7. (This computer is 7 years old and still with XP!)

No, and I won't, I'm very exited about Windows 7, but everything new *always* has teething problems. With software I'm usually ok with, but with the actual Operating System, I'd rather wait a few months for patches and such to come out.

  5. Nope. I'm quite happy with XP Home and SuRun.

That's how I feel as well. I always prefer to wait a bit just to see what transpires.

    All in good time :)

I am planning on buying, but did not preorder it. I want to wait a bit after release and see how it goes. I was also confused about upgrade vs clean install options. I do NOT want to do an upgrade of a Vista install to 7. The only way I will run 7 is with a clean install from scratch. So I have taken a wait and see approach, although I am running the x64 RC now and have zero issues with it.

I'm quite happy with my Vista Ultimate(which I bought separately from my computer), and I'm not going to upgrade to Win7 Ultimate at the price they ask.

Since the release candidate software is running so smoothly, there may not be as much risk in pre-ordering the OS as some might think, at least in terms of technical issues.

One example, if the hardware/software is compatible with Vista, it usually runs under Windows 7 just fine.

I also preordered Premium for $50. Not sure yet if I'm going to keep or sell it.

I should have bought the professional version because of AppLocker and XP mode :(.

Pre-ordered premium and will install once I get it. Ran the beta and it worked fine. Will be installing 64-bit this time around though.

I preordered Premium, since I have been running Vista Premium & can't afford the extra $$ required for Professional or whatever. Savings gained by preordering seem good.
I was going to study choices further, but all of a sudden it was literally the final hour, so I pulled the trigger on Premium.

I still dont know why Home premium is limited to 16gb of ram.
i would of liked applocker and standard local security policy but two features isnt worth double the price.

Same here . Yes , the offer is very good but I'd rather wait Service Pack 1 .

I kind of prefer Vista and XP to Windows 7.

No, it's not out for a few more months. I can't think of many things I'd order months ahead of time.

Same here. Is there anything Windows 7 can do for my everyday programs that WinXP Pro can't?

I am so pissed off with this new "improved" MS OSes (Vista included) that I can only consider running a pirated copy of 7 - out of protest.
No, seriously, of course I didn't preorder, I haven't even tried it. Couldn't care less.

XP Home is serving me fine thank you. I'm in no rush to change as there are years of life left in XP, the best operating system out there. ;)

Same here, but in my case WinXP Professional and a CD aimed at getting most performance out of the OS without sacrificing important parts of it. :) Most important thing is - it's still XP. ;)
