Yes this was hotly discussed somewhere back in these posts yet the image can be mounted and individual Files & Folders can be copied should that be a necessity for some. Pretty sure this will be a very easy addition for Hasleo when they prep the whole program for the eventual Prime Time.
Thanks for your reply, Frog. It looks like you've already found Windows 11 Forum and it's Hasleo Backup Suite thread.
I searched and checked all the posts in three threads related to Hasleo on that forum. One or two users had an issue, which Hasleo fixed. (From my experience, I have noticed that many users test a product without understanding its features or capabilities and then blame the product for issues or their shortcomings.) This is the best thread for any and all info about Hasleo on the net, including beta versions. @TheRollbackFrog performed extensive as well as complex tests with Hasleo and displayed or confirmed its reliability and stability.
Hi All I have a small problem with the boot time option. I installed it from the main app, and it appears as an option when I boot my device. If I select that then I am booted into the recovery version of HBS...so far all good, but then when I try to use the touchscreen of my device to navigate HBS...nothing...so I am guessing that when build the boot version some key drivers were not picked up/included. How do I correct this because if I remove the boot menu option, reboot into Windows and then try to build in from HBS I get no option to include any drivers in the build...the boot menu option just gets rebuilt. Any thoughts on how I should proceed, please? Thanks, Baldrick
@Baldrick Remove the Hasleo boot menu > Tools - Remove Boot Menu Delete the .SDI and .WIM files in C:\boot Delete the winpe.iso in C:\Program Files\Hasleo\Hasleo Backup Suite\bin Add the Hasleo boot menu > Tools - Add Boot Menu
Hi khanyash Thanks, I will give that a try and see what options I have for including drivers...it is interesting that I never had this issue when using Macrium on other systems. When creating the Boot Menu option all relevant drivers where automatically found and included. If I cannot do that with HBS I may have to stick with Macrium. Regards, Baldrick
HBS is so far still doing the unexpected and performing courageously efficient on my 8.1 systems & Windows 10. Thanks to EVERYONE who contributed mightily to the advancement of this very useful backup/restore program.
OK, the first FULL cycle is done with 7-day merging on my INCREMENTALS... all was flawless. The Incrementals were merged upon the first INC produced on #of DAYS+1... since the setting was set for 7-days, the merge was done on the first INC of Day#8, with all of the INCs from the previous Day 1 being merged into the old Day#2. I ran many restores associated with the interim DIFFs as well as a series of merged INCs with all representing the System state at that time. An anomaly was discovered (and reported to the Devs) concerning order of schedules in their list. When images of any type were scheduled for the same day/time, instead of selecting hierarchial images (FULL over DIFF over INC) and deferring the ones not selected, it used the list order to determine hierarchy... that's really not acceptable, but at least you can work around it by creating the proper hierarchial image schedules in the list itself... define FULL first, then DIFF then INC. We'll see if they can get that change in place before the public release of v4. Things are lookin' pretty darn good!
In the latest v4 Beta#3 release, they have just added up/down positioning arrows for each schedule item in the list so it can be manually sorted. Fine for now (for existing users) but I hope the end solution will be a hierarchy selection regardless of list position... users shouldn't have to worry about that.
These Devs are quick! Another v4 Beta#3 release dated 04November addresses this issue completely (up/down list positioning is gone from this release)... if any scheduled item is set to run on the same day/time, full HIERARCY is now respected (FULL over DIFF over INC) with the unselected items being deferred until the next scheduled time. I love working with these Developers
Great news @TheRollbackFrog Thanks much for keeping us up to date. They definitely listen to their users. It is operating at a level now that is approaching top notch, in my opinion. I was extremely impressed with reading about your full cycle backups, etc., and that it was flawless other than your notice of task implementation. It is impressive watching the development of this piece of imaging software unfold, and how lean it actually is and fast in what is accomplishes. Refreshing to see developers so responsive.
Downloaded. Amazing talent those DEVS. Helps immensely the contributions that land to their desk which gives them a pattern to compare what is a tad off then they sew it up nicely & functional. Thanks Again @TheRollbackFrog for sticking through each stage of the development releases. conducting end-user tests like glue.
According to the Admin on their forum, on this LINK The Admin gives instruction on how to turn off Auto Update for HBS: (I assume this is still valid) "Please go to the bin folder under the installation directory of Hasleo Backup Suite, open "Backup Suite.ini", change 'AutoCheckUpdate=1' to 'AutoCheckUpdate=0' under the 'Settings' section to disable checking for updates" Hope this helps you @soccerfan
You can also click "check for updates" from the interface and disable the "automatically check for new version" option.
When I click "check for updates" I get info for a new version available with an option to install but no option to disable "automatically check for new version". Maybe that option shows up only when no new version is available?
When I "Check for updates," the following window appears (unCheck lower left hand CheckBox to stop Automatic check), your assumption may be correct...
What Hasleo version are you using? According to them, "This problem should have been fixed in V3.6 and later versions."
