I use VS in it's DEFAULT configuration and have no issues whatsoever except during the installation of HBS. My suggestion would be to disable VS, uninstall HBS, reinstall HBS, then turn on VS. You may have a VS setting set to be quiet or silent and it may be affecting the installation of HBS.
In my VS configuration (DEFAULT), 2-files are found to be "unsigned" (and stopped) during installation... I declare them a False Positive and continue the installation. After installation, there are two more files found to be unsafe by the WhiteList Cloud function (signature issues) of VS... I manually WhiteList them both (I don't think this function keeps them from working... it's just a warning). It is fairly common for Developers to keep modules unsigned until final versions are established (it's a bit of work to get every file signed prior to release)... not a great practice but a lot less work during development. Not offering excuses here...
Not related to the issue but as an example how touchy programs can be. On my Windows 8.1 with Hasleo Backup Suite installed, when it's not in use, it doesn't shut off it's service driver for reasons of potential scheduling image runs. Since i normally don't do schedules yet, and i like to keep running unneeded services minimum so i stop it's service. I can't count the times i go to run Hasleo and it throws an error, but it is so easy to simply restart it and then it runs a "live" image taken without fail.
@TheRollbackFrog I allowed VoodooShield alerts for HBS installation, and there are no blocks in the VS log.
I put my 2 cents in here when I used Hasleo on my test system the one with the failed backups and restores I also had VoodooShield on that system, Interesting.
I uninstalled VoodooShield to test for the HBS crashes. I'll update here. Update It appears that HBS crashes are caused by VoodooShield. I will report the problem to Dan.
I was using VS stable version 7.37. I'm a VS beta tester and forgot to install the new beta version 7.40. Now I installed VS beta 7.40 to test for the HBS crashes.
I gave Hasleo a quick test run with VS, I think I was running 7.37 at the time but not 100% sure. Anyhoo, made back up, it worked with no issues, it was slow but it worked.
Do you have any other security software on the system? I don't have Hasleo backup or restore problems with VoodooShield installed.

HBS crashed. I have reported the problem to Dan. Dan has requested the developer.log and some information from the HBS developer. I'll update here.
Good deal and way to go. With the logs and 'both' developers combing through, surely that random? HBS disruption with voodooshield can be pinpointed and resolved.
After some investigation I have discovered what caused my issue with Hasleo's backups and restores it was defender core isolation windows 11, it had blocked A Driver for my backup drive the driver was WD Smartware SES Driver which is at Smartware has reached its end of support life cycle, Any way disabled core isolation reinstalled the driver and Hasleo's has done 5 backups and restores today without a bit of trouble.
Leave it to Windows to throw a monkey wrench into things that ordinarily would run unobstructed that the user depends on.
Dan responded that there is nothing in the DeveloperLog.log that shows VoodooShield is causing the HBS crashes. HBS also crashed after uninstalling VoodooShield. So it appears that the issue is with either HBS or my system.
@ khanyash its not just your system HBS also crashed 2 times on my system after I uninstalling VoodooShield. And 1 blue screen of death so I thinking it might be a HBS issue, any how I have wiped the system and wont be installing VoodooShield or HBS for now.
I don’t think it has anything to do with Voodooshield. Il was never installed on my system and HBS crashed twice.
It's getting too quiet for patience with @Hasleo lately. Let's see if the developer soon weighs in or releases another version but what a shame. So far i have none of those HBS crashes, not even a disruption or error on either 8.1 OR my Windows 10 systems. Maybe it's that Windows 11? I simply can't say because in no fashion does Windows 11 interest me personally yet.
Just been talking to a friend who I told about HBS he has been use it for a week HBS crashed 3 times, on windows 10 home, so he did a restore, unbootable state, now I have to go over tomorrow and install windows 10 for him. there is HBS issue on some pc's
Thanks @warrior99 for pointing it out. Unless something changes on this end i can only say so far so good using Hasleo. But Aomei Backupper remains my chief first line of backup. Obviously a backup image program should not crash in any event so something with some systems is definitely wrong.
Are there Crash_x_xxxx_xx_xx_xx_xx_xx.dmp files in the bin folder under the installation directory of Hasleo Backup Suite? The developer requires dump (.dmp) files to resolve HBS crashes. But the issue is that the dump files created on my system are empty.
