Has the XP Avalanche of Doom struck yet?

    I've only ever installed 32-bit from XP all the way up to 8.1.1. Now you've heard it. :D

    And one more 32-bit Win 8.1 here as well on 9 year old laptop.

    Why? My wifes 7 year old dual core laptop even has 64-Bit. I haven't run into a single core system in 2-3 years though, maybe those need 32-bit?
