    hey wilders,

    recently on my vista 64bit Home premium system, i noticed that my harddrive spac decreased by about 8 gbs.

    its usually around 86-87gb of taken space but now its always around 94gb.

    i deleted system restore points, ran ccleaner, and also did disk cleanup.

    what mightve caused this?

    Hello wutsup;

    Does Disc Management show a second partition ?

    Did you recently perform a backup that is now stored on the drive ?

    Have you by chance downloaded or ripped a movie to the hard drive ?

    Certainly the OS by itself is not using 90GB of space. Which means you have a lot of installed programs and personal files on the drive also.
    Would you say your personal files remain constant? You never add to them or delete any of them?

    You've installed no new programs recently? Removed none?

    Or is an explanation provided here, perhaps?:

    Meaning do you always reference the same item to determine your amount of used space?
