I would like to hear from any forum members having experience with this software. I downloaded it from Bits Du Jour today; it was 100% free. However, before I install the program I would like to hear from anyone having experience or knowledge regarding the program. As always I will appreciate all replies and would thank you in advance.

I've installed it and would describe it as full featured. There are no other apps bundled with it, it doesn't try to install a toolbar, or change browser default home page or search engines. It's a serious utility.

The Hard Disk Sentinel server is down. I can neither visit the site nor register and activate it online. Going through the email activation. No reply from the author so far.

I have never heard about this before, thanks for sharing. I was able to obtain me a license today, and I love it.

It gives very accurate and precise info on my HDD. It's a good software. Have you set it to load with Windows or do you use it on-demand? I use it on-demand.

Actually it's better than Acronis Drive Monitor. Far more features. The gui of Sentinel could prettier though. It's kind of dizzy.

I use it on-demand as well. I only keep thing's on startup that require constant monitoring (Such as Antivirus, etc.).

I also keep things on startup that way.

Ive used it for years ,and cant fault it.The developer janos is very knowledgeable and helpful.A few months back i had appguard blocking a hdsentinel process because it was being created and run from appdata>local temp folders and obviously you wouldnt want appguard to exclude whole temp folder.I emailed janos and immediatley made a new build that fixed the problem.A s well as the fine support the program is ist class.

Personally i use it set to start with windows ,as it does monitor SMART and use perfdisk data to anylyse the trend of the drive.I also like to see the disk temp in tray icon (which changes depending on temp),as it can alert you when a prog is behaving badly causing disk heat. Finally theres hardly any overhead so imo its best to leave it auto start with windows.

I've downloaded and made it portable using Cameyo, as it also seems to be a good application to have in a pendrive: is working fine in Windows XP and Windows 7 x64, i haven't got the chance to try in others versions so far.

I tend to constantly open the program to check it's status, I find no point (At least for me) keeping it on the startup. I am quite picky on what runs all the time.

Yeah i understand. You can make it easier (though i havent tried it myself).HDS runs using task scheduler so you can edit it to run auto every hour if you wished to save clicking it,though i guess you would have to click it to stop it.The advanced options also has detection frequency ,where you can alter to 12 hours between checks if you wanted so its not really running all the time in the literal sense.I find it light so just leave it at default ,but i will admit that my system tray is like icon city :D
