Since this sub forum is dead, I thought I would create a thread. Does anyone here use GridinSoft Trojan Killer? The product is pretty much a portable GridinSoft Anti-Malware, with no real-time protection. As far as I can tell, it uses the same engine as the latter to detect malware, so it should come with false positives.

I would never use it because it's rentware. $2.95 a month.

I just noticed that it's now available for Android.

Not sure why they keep different names for similar products. Gridinsoft Antimalware has even lifetime license.

Also Loaris Trojan Remover seems to be from the same developer. Last time I tried it, the GUI was similar as Trojan Killer.

And it's an actual lifetime license. I've installed and uninstalled it after a reset without any problems.

Last time I tested it, there were many false positive detection in the registry. But I tested it about 3 years back.

I've tested it more recently than that, and there are still major issues with false positives.

Have you tested it's detection on any malware samples? I just ran a scan...

No, I uninstalled it due to the excessive false positives. I prefer not to use producst with major issues with false positives, so I wasn't interested in finding how well it does at detecting actual malware.
