at times you can find genuine retail copies on ebay i know people who buy av's cut the upc off send in for the rebates and then sell the product. these are genuine retail boxed versions and i do see these on ebay often and webroot has already been paid for those ones. you just have to carefully select which ones to buy if you do from ebay

2013 keys work off Ebay, a friend purchased several of them, and yes WR gets the money from them.

I would be skeptical of anything but the 2013 version. But most Ebay sellers with good reputations won't hose you, and if they do it's quite easy to reverse the sale through paypal. Purchasing keys in advance off Ebay is quite cheap, and smart.

I tend to switch AV's if something better comes along, so I rarely purchase in advance. I am waiting for Kingsoft 2013 to be released, and will likely switch to that or something else in 5 months when my WR licenses run out. PandaCloud is another option, the 2.1 version is phenomenal and Pro licenses for Panda are $2.50 on Ebay.

 

which keys are they though? did they have the orange seal or say best buy on the back of them those are the ones that dont activate properly
