Yes, I can understand your caution very well. On the other hand, on http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2008/09/fresh-take-on-browser.html they write: "...we are making all of our code open source as well". Thus, any privacy issues should be detected rather soon.

If Google Chrome runs no probs with the best security app ever, being Sandboxie, then I may just give it a whirl.;)

What if the original source code had a few extra lines that sent info to google?

    Looks good.
Is it IE based or a new build completely ?

    Re: Google Chrome

It is based on Apple's Webkit and Mozilla, seems a new build on existing technology and made available as open source software. Very clever of them (using existing technology). Could be a strong FF competitor (initially, on short term) when enthousiast bridge the plug ins for Chrome usage. I expect Chrome to function as a technology booster which will be incorporated in other open source browsers (to the benefit of FF :)

IIRC the release today is a beta build and still early on.

Wiki description sounds spectecular (e.g. multi threading bringing advantage to all dual and quad core users)

HOHO, the local time is already "tomorrow". its now Tue. 10:20PM in China.
hummmm. waiting is painful, forgetting would be my last salvation.
I'll not press the refresh button till tomorrow.
:cautious: Hum. peace... inner peace...I'll be an ascetic before "tomorrow" comes.

So the Sandbox is always on? I remember Greenborder had an icon in the system tray letting you know what was being downloaded or alerting the user about key loggers.

Got it. It's fast, bad thing that the password exporting addon for mozilla seems not to work. I also miss the File Edit View etc. options at the top, and it's not very tweakable. The interface seems a mix of Safari and IE with Vista.
And why can't I import anything from firefox, only from IE?

The 'incognito' feature should appeal to users here at Wilders.

The page rendering is super quick.

Even quicker than Opera or Safari.. at least that's what my initial testing shows.

Honestly I wish web browsers would stop showing up left and right.

Quite honestly it's a weird thing to be addicted to, but I'm addicted to the darn things and keep them all installed. (granted they take up little space.. but my friends who tend to stick to one sure think I'm a weirdo)

I will say that I wish they went for The Safari font rendering.. because I feel it's superior to any of the windows based browsers in that regard.. the words just like crisper and nicer in my opinion.

At this point Chrome will go into my regular rotation.

    I use Opera the most
Fire Fox and Safari quite a bit as well.

Don't ever use internet explorer and not sure where Chrome will fit into the equation.. likely still behind Opera.. but depending on mood right there with Fire Fox and Safari. One thing's for sure, it's a safe bet that it won't be uninstalled :D

    edit:

The firefox exporting worked fine for me as well.

Wow this thing is fast at booting and loading pages. Doesnt work with Sandboxie...
Could be that i change from Opera to this. Now we need mouse gestures and custom shortkeys

    Dromaeo:
    Opera: 2922.40ms (Total)
    Chrome: 676.80ms (Total)
