I was half expecting it to turn into the pig's ear that was the new Yahoo! Mail. I can live with the new Google Mail.

Yes, Yahoo Mail is also pretty bad and bloated. But I like it better compared to the new Gmail look.

I wouldn't know about Yahoo! Mail as I stopped using it years ago. GMail hasn't really changed that much IMO and looks more or less the same to me.

I don't like this new type of "tablet" look that a lot of sites have switched to. Here is an example, the first one I don't like:

So I just tried the new Gmail only because they said we can revert back. I guess it LOOKS ok and that but doesn't load any faster and i'm one of those high performance types. At least they added a DElete trash can icon on the same line of a mail you looked at and one of those you routinely send to the bin.

Why Gmail's confidential mode is good for privacy, but may be bad for businesses
Google's new mail features might prove to be a big issue for litigation and corporate investigations due to the compliance and e-discovery complications it creates, says Relativity's David Horrigan.

After having tried a couple of days the new Gmail for one of my mail boxes I switched all the boxes to the new look then. In short, I like it, namely the compactness of the view is smart thing. It perfectly fits to the new modern design of all Google applications (Drive, Photos et.). No reason to go back to the old fashioned style.

Is there any way to get the old Gmail. Those idiots showed where "you can change it back" notice and now it's stuck on that funky lousy layout.

The line by line icons jump all over the place forcing the whole crapping page to hang. I hate it

//EDIT: I found under settings "go back to classic gmail" (thank goodness)
That updated layout is horrible atrocious! It took repeated pushes of the pointer to even get it to revert back to classic.

What the matter with those jerks. Why don't they leave things alone that are fine AS-IS

E-mails are often seen as evidence. Closely cooperating companies take orders and agree price everyday by emails. I really don't understand why Google thinks companies need that features...

I know the annoyances those like myself are experiencing with all this so called new updating is the way the pages are geared to smartphone/mobile usage and it's understood, but us laptop/desktop users are suffering from LAG when we're steered away from instead of left with a choice to keep what runs best on our machines too.

It's not like everyone in the world has ability to own high-efficiency high-performance machines like the Googles & Microsoft's of the world.

I hate how the left pane keeps collapsing when you move your mouse away from it. I find it very distracting

Click the three horizontal lines next to Gmail on top left to stop it hiding.

I now have only 9 emails showing, compared to the 19 showing in Gmail's old design -- there's a ton of white space that formerly was occupied by text. How the hell is this an improvement?

This is an ergonomically bad design - specifically, the roboto fonts render badly on the desktop (all of them).
I have a tutorial on how to use other desktop fonts coming soon.
    Mrk
