"You know the lovely folks at speedtest.net - they tell you how fast or slow your internet connection is? You also know that Google has a subpar version when you Google [speed test] right in the search results. They launched that feature about two years ago. Well, now, if you search for the brand [speedtest.net], the domain name, in Google, Google will show you their speed test widget above the domain speedtest.net..." https://www.seroundtable.com/google-speed-test-widgetr-speedtest-net-25641.html NB: Comments at the above link indicate that this may not be intentional by Google, e.g.,is the result of a glitch; the widget is old-not new. FWIW: My tests show Google download speeds 20% - 50% slower than results from speedtest.net. Upload speeds are about the same with each. Speedtest.net auto-selects "the fastest" nearby server (within approx 30 miles - dunno what servers Google-test uses).
