    After 'Adblock Plus', and 'Adthwart' combined there has been a lot of confusion due to there being yet another add-on called 'Adblock'. And If I'm not mistaken Adblock was the first to appear in the Google Chrome (now 'Web Store') extension page, and from there it became extremely popular as the #1 advertisement blocker for Google Chrome/Chromium.

    There are many similarities between Adblock, and Adblock Plus. And I've found from personal experience that Adblock Plus preforms slightly faster. But that gain is negated by the fact that Adblock Plus misses more advertisements than the original Adblock.

    To answer your question though, I would say Adblock is the better of the two. Just from personal experience.

    Thanks for all of the information. I'm now in a quest for something like OptimizeGoogle for Firefox, but for Chrome.

    Anyone?

    Adblock Plus is the original. It was written by Wladimir Palant for Firefox and later adapted for Chrome. It is available here:

    http://adblockplus.org/en/chrome

    Adblock for Chrome on the other hand was made by someone who pinched Wladimir's concept and feels this achievement entitles him to solicit donations:
    'Crazy for trying this' is a shameless understatement to obfuscate a blatant get-rich-quick attempt.

    I don't believe such a thing exists, as Chrome has no about:config or similar page.

    That is saddening to hear, there's always someone out there to live off of someone else's success.

    Thanks guys. I've had some quirky things happen with Chrome. Like still having problems accessing my Comcast email. Firefox just works and to be honest, seems faster to me.

    Chrome just renders weird. Maybe I should try the beta or dev builds? What do you Chrome guys have to say?

    1) Do you have any about:flags switches enabled?
    2) What add-ons do you have?

    No I don't its a vanilla install.

    Only add on I am using is Adblock.

    If you disable Adblock, does the problem persist?

    Sure does.

    What happens is I can log into my Comcast webmail and open emails. The problem is when I click on reply. It just opens up a blank page instead of showing the body of the email. Also there is no option to Send in this scenario either.

    IE, Firefox, and Opera are fine. Its just Chrome that does this. Its weird. Im gonna do a Google search now.

    EDIT: Found a bunch of links but this one proves to be the winner. Comcast Known Issue. Will not be fixed until June.

    June? Yikes, it can't be that hard to fix. Oh well, at least it IS going to be fixed.

    Yeah and apparently its been an issue for a long while. Crazy but I guess will continue to just use Firefox.

    Does anyone use Website Reporter? I've been giving it a bit of a spin, I'm not quite sure what to make of it yet. I don't see it replacing WOT any time soon.

    These are some of the comments about Wilders:

    "This is a great site for getting answers for your internet security."

    "Clueless posers, cry babies and freeloaders are the mainstream user population here with rare exceptions being vendor representatives and a couple of moderators. Those seeking mAssive Poster status account for over 90% of the content here by posting up useless drivel to bump up their post counts."

    "Have frequented this site for years and it has some of the most helpful memebers on the Internet IMHO. Moderators are pin sharp and nothing inopportune goes by unnoticed. Highly recommended."

    I gave Planetarium a spin as well. It's OK, but I got a bit bored with it after a bit.

    Does it include site blocking? If not I won't even consider it.

    No, I don't think so. I suppose at its best it would supplement something that could site block. I uninstalled it anyway, I wasn't that impressed.

    i only use one extension: Mouse Stroke.

    i have tried all the mouse gesture addons for Chrome but this one is the best, imo.
    it is easy to use and configure and you can backup the settings to a text file and restore it when you need.

    that is pretty handy if you like to use a portable version of Chrome.

    on another note:
    i like using mouse gesture so much i would not think of using a browser that doesn't have a good one.
    mouse gesture cuts down a lot in having to move the mouse over long distance just for basic operation.
    that is especially useful with wide screen monitors.

    One thing that prevents me from using Google Chrome was that it has no ScrapBook plus extension just like in Firefox...and also it didn't work or operates in limited user accounts. :p

    Any adviceo_O :doubt:

    You have to install Chrome in a 'pack'.

    Re: Google Chrome - Extensions

    There's been much talk of maximizing screen "real estate".

    One way to squeeze a little more is to fiddle with the width (of the vertical) and height of the (horizontal) scrollbars. That's if you keep them at all.

    Someone has come up with an extension:
    http://www.ghacks.net/2011/05/25/google-chrome-thin-scroll-bar/

    If one prefers the DIY approach, putting this in the Custom.css file may be adequate:
    Code:
    ::-webkit-scrollbar { height: 15px; width: 15px; background: #800000;}
    ::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb {background: orange; -webkit-border-radius: 1ex;}
    ::-webkit-scrollbar-corner { background: #000;}

    All values can be tweaked ad nauseam but the Custom.css file has to be saved each time and the page may have to be re-loaded for the changes to be seen.

    I must stress that this is with Win XP SP3. Other Win versions or other OS versions may not play ball.
