[Google Chrome/Chromium] AVG Threat Labs Site Safety

    This is a Chromium/Google Chrome extension I came across moments ago, from AVG.

    It gets the results from LinkScanner.

    Just thought someone would be interested in it. I still haven't tried it. I will, though. :D

    One thing I'd noticed from this a while ago is that (this was reported to me by a user and we found this out on their specific machine) while downloading a large file it would hold the file in RAM and consume huge amounts of memory. If they downloaded a 1MB file it would hold 1MB of memory - 1GB, 1GB.

    I think Opera used to use AVG link scanner. I personally use Traffic Light on my "secure" Chrome profile.

    Are you saying this extension was causing it? Or LinkScanner itself?

    It was a Chrome extension. I don't remember which but it was some AVG scan thing.

    If only there was something lighter than LinkScanner like this on Firefox.
