In Chrome settings under use secure DNS, when i type in my custom URL and press enter nothing happens. The URL just sits there like i need to press enter but i already did it. My custom URL is
https://doh.cleanbrowsing.org/doh/security-filter/ ..... Chrome secure DNS is not working according to Cloudflare’s Browsing Experience Security Check.

The extension icons at the top of the screen can't be adjusted anymore to the right or left to show or hide icons.

Thanks, I hadn't noticed that before because you have to expand the view in privacy filter lists.

Seems like Google has beefed up Chrome's security, this new tech should lower ''remote code excution'' bugs. But once again it's not clear to me if all browsers based on Chromium will profit from it. But it has one huge drawback, it will increase RAM usage by 6.5%, not a problem on systems with 16GB RAM I guess. But on my Win 10 laptop with 8GB it's a problem. I truly think it's ridiculous how much RAM Vivaldi is using.

They will profit as they share the same codebase.

It should be noted, though, that Firefox offers protection against those bugs as well. Google says that "Around 70% of our high severity security bugs are memory unsafety problems (that is, mistakes with C/C++ pointers). Half of those are use-after-free bugs." These memory-related are exactly the ones Rust protects against. Granted, only about 10% of the complete Firefox codebase is written in Rust - but the point is that a crucial part of the browser, namely the rendering engine (WebRender), is completely written in Rust.

Let's hope so, because sometimes I get the impression that certain features only make it to Chrome, and not to other Chromium based browsers. And cool that Firefox finally also takes security a bit more seriously. I must say it has been quite a while since I read about a zero day in Firefox, while Chrome is full of RCE's.

This doesn't really surprise me about Chrome. I have suspected for a while that Google had dropped the ball a bit.

What they however forget to mention is how many of these bugs can be used for remote code attacks, in other words, how many can be used to automatically run malware on people's machines. Most of these issues aren't really a serious threat.

And this is also because of Chromium's built-in sandbox, running code inside the sandboxed browser process isn't enough to do any serious damage. And perhaps more security researchers are focused on Chrome because it's the most used browser in the world?

Mostly a handful of hyperbolic articles to provoke a response from Chrome users. Most threats aren't serious threats or we would experience more of them.

Firefox has but a tiny fraction of chromium browsers' market share, naturally there will be a lot more vulnerabilities found in the chromium browsers, especially google chrome as it has 70% market share or more. If they had equal market share, god help firefox. Let's also not forget that none managed to hack chrome in pwn2own, while firefox was getting owned left and right. Chrome has always been known as more secure and faster than firefox, while firefox has been known as more private

Chromium is just superior than firefox in almost every aspect except privacy

In chrome, websites can write to the clipboard, but not read from it without permission.
