http://www.google.com/search?num=20...&hs=D9g&q=DanielSmith aca capture&btnG=Search I heard a bell ringing, forums can used for many things - good luck with cashing in...

Anyway, Ive only seen one freeware program competing with Snagit and that is Screenshot Captor http://www.donationcoder.com/Software/Mouser/screenshotcaptor/index.html Very cool with effects etc. Anyone can make "pro" shots - free to use. Xnview or similar is plenty for most of course, Faststone great for the extras like scrolling but this also has unique features.

    Peter...I mean Pedro,

Yeah, I used the two. Both serves me well. Process Tamer works to prevent program from eating too much cpu in your pc in order to make reserved for other programs to use.

Maybe, there are other screen capturers programs in the web that are more even better that screenshot capture, but I find this as adequate for my needs coz they're easy to use. ;)

    Hello :)

Umm... guys, what's wrong with PrintScreen and Alt-PrintScreen? With a decent image editor, that's all you need. Or maybe I'm missing something here...

    Way passed that.
You can select a window, capture the entire window (if the window has a scroll, you can get it all, like this thread- everything is captured, it scrolls down and captures it), choose what editor or output you want,..
This example is the "freehand region" screenshot.

Try it. Faststone Capture is the one i have. Ultra simple. With its own editor, but you use that only if you want.

I agree with Pedro. A screen capture program like FastStone Capture is faster and much more flexible than other alternatives. If nothing else, it's a big time saver.

Not that long ago, I felt pretty much the same as you. And then I finally tried free MWSnap. It was good enough to change my mind. Then once I found FastStone, it was an even easier change to make... :)

    Hi guys. :)

Don't get me wrong here. It's just that I don't use screen-capturing that often, and for my needs PrintScreen does the job. But this:

is a fair point. OK, I will give FastStone a try one of these days. You convinced me ;) .

    Cheers. :thumb:

    Hello Metal425. :)

This can be usefull also when capturing video. And it's free. Nice...
I've also found a link to streaming audio recorder on that page, something that I need at the moment. Thanks. :thumb:

It's good to have such a screen capture utility. I earned $30 in total with sending screenshots to prove bugs and fix them in free lotto programs.
Now I'm using it mainly to create installation files. A picture is more worth than thousand words.

Personally, I stick with Faststone, but version 2.1, I didn't like at all the changes they introduced in V 3 :gack: . Heard there was a V 4, now a V 5, since, but never tested it.

Other than the builtin Windows functionality, does anyone know any freeware screen capture that works with Aero Glass (from a WindowBlinds skin)?

WinSnap 1.x and FastStone dont capture the titlebars, so Im looking for an alternative.

edit: Gadwin PrintScreen also fails at capturing the titlebars.

You might want to try the latest version 5.3. It can be downloaded as a portable, standalone that does not require installation (nice for USB flash drives.)

Gadwin PrintScreen is the easiest I have tried so far.

    What about Screenshot Captor?
    Can't promise anything, but it's worth a shot. :) ;)

Yes, Thanks, I noticed that. I didn't like at all the way the program was changed, with V 3, especially the new panel opened once you take a screenshot (V 2 allowed to manage pics quicker, for me; important when you have to take a lot of screenshots very fast). But maybe they improved it since, I'll check it.

    Cheers,

Although I don't run it that way, I'm pretty sure you can bypass the Editor and have the program auto save captures to a user selected folder.
