I have the vista version of True Image.
I installed Vista via a clean install upgrade. I’m so frustrated with all the bugs in Vista that I want to install my full backup of XP which is on a usb hard drive. Is this possible and what is the best way to do it?
Pardon my lack of knowledge but I have only used True Image to replace files and not an image.

First create the bootable Rescue cd from the True Image menu. Boot with the cd and choose the Recover feature to restore the Image you have on the usb drive. If it is an Image Backup of the entire drive pre-Vista you'll be back with XP.

Just before you restore, I suggest you validate the image. This should reduce the chances of you ending up with nothing on your disk in the unlikely event that the image is corrupt.
