Missed it, Jan Eric - Clapton? Billy - Preston? Paul - Mcartney? George - Harrison? (can't be...) Ravi - Shankar? Sounds like a trip on memory lane regards. paul
Yeah, memory lane .......... Oops, was too much in a hurry: of course not George but Ringo ! With a little help of my friends Yep, you got the other ones right Was also nice to see Ravi Shankar. I enjoyed the whole TV broadcast (tuned in a bit late ...). But, eh, music from India has to be real classic music IMHO, taking hours.... Eric "Slowhand" Clapton was great as always. Eh btw , did you know it was Duane Allman playing the lead at Layla Aahh, don't get me talking about music
Oh man........the Allman brothers! Still have a bunch of their vinyl! Whipping Post....Eat a Peach....Stormy Monday....sheeshh...don't get me started! (Hey, whattabout Jeff Beck?)
Allman Brothers Band - good band indeed, but a bunch of very, very bad guys (most of them served quite a lot of time, if I'm correct). Technically speaking, one of the better guitar players at that time IMHO. Did miss the 'magic' from Clapton, Duane Allman, Johnny Winter, Hendrix - and of course Jan Akkerman. As for vinyl: I did give away most of my collection to years ago to a girlfriend (the relationship didn't last very long, the loss of the vinyl lasts forever ). regards. paul
Ouch! Now THAT hurts (the lost of the records, not the girl). Two of my favorites with the guitar were Jimmy Page and Steve Howe. I gave my vinyl collection to my sister when I moved away from home 30 years ago ... DUMB, oh well, at least they're still in the family. Acadia
I had to replace my stereo system a few years ago, and I had a heck of time finding one that came with a record player. After a LOT of hunting, I managed to find an Aiwa system that fit the bill, and my mother recently found one by Emerson. They're still out there, and I can hear your vinyl whispering ... "come play me, please ... please ...please ... please".
I think I've still got one in my attic that has a record player, cassette, and if you can believe it, an 8-track player. For those of you under 30, don't bother asking what an "8 track" is.
'With a little help' from my TV I laid in bed with my darlin' wife and listened to the whole thing.......BLISS..... The music is dead, Long live the REAL Music...... Cochise,
Nearly forgot, have a Cookie Beej for having stuff in your attic that can play your 'Memories'... if you know what I mean? Cochise,
