i certainly hope they get a new release by then.

i contacted Brian of Geswall about a month ago about an ETA for Geswall 3.0 and his answer was: "soon".

so i'm expecting they will release a new version before December 12.
mind you, this is just speculation on my part.

Hope and will be very glad to see an updated GesWall. It's been a while and the delay in the updated version is creating a stir already. Very good software IMHO.

Hopefully this mystery gets put to an end here soon.

Personally, the only software I like is Geswall and Defensewall :thumb:

i agree. ( and i add Shadow Defender to my list) ;)

although i like Geswall even better than Defensewall because all the changes are discarded once the app (in my case Chrome) is closed.

in Defensewall, all the changes are kept and added to the Rollback list.
this can be seen as good or bad, depending on your outlook of things...

but yeah, i'm looking forward to the new Geswall too! :)

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, GeSWall has been one of my personally favorites also. Maybe a 64bit version is on the horizon.

Geswall is selling with a 15% discount on their site:

so it looks like there's something happening.

    but:
so if you buy now (2.9), you might have to pay again when 3.0 comes out.

i don't see anything about a rebate for owners of previous version.
i think i'll email Brian and ask... ;)

GentleSecurity still shows activity as this blog of Andrey Kolischak (the main developer, a russion living in Luxemburg) dated 25-10-2010

    http://www.gentlesecurity.com/blog/index.php

Given the limitted development resources, they problably have focussed on releasing leakwall 2.1 and the Hack (Luxembourg) convention. So I trust the freebie yearly lisence will be renewed and a x64 is coming soon.

    Regards Kees

i got a very non-commital email from Brian.
    can't say i blame him! ;)

the good news is that present owners of Geswall Pro will get a rebate when 3.0 is release.
    ---------------------
    Dear Vincent,

sure, there would be discounted upgrade fee for GeSWall 3.0.

    Best regards,
