So only 6% of ABP users actually disable the whitelist? I would not have expected that.

Nothing unexpected, really... Most users won't bother to change the default settings for any program.

 

True however this setting affects the major functionality of the program. Either people really don't mind ads as much as they say they do, or all the whitelisted ads are so unobtrusive that people don't notice them.

 

re this article: who sees adblocking as theft? the websites can prevent you from viewing the content if you don't let their scripts run last i heard.

 

And there will be always a way around this. This is an "arms race" with no end in sight, and with no definitive winner.

 

The lawyers will be the eventual winners as usual I bet.

So ABP was fine as long as they blocked all ads. When they started to give businesses the option to have their ads unblocked they became blackmailers?

I think businesses are just looking for any reason at all to take ABP down all together. Of course they're in the money making business, yet how dare ABP make any!

So options are bad, now that businesses are given a choice ABP is evil, but ABP was good when they blocked everyone regardless.

Now that the user is given a choice whether to have all blocked or allow "acceptable" ads we should all flee in horror to AdBlock Edge which doesn't give us that choice.

PLEASE, NO MORE OPTIONS!!!
