I have some questions regarding user's privacy in vBulletin. I couldn't find definite answers to these with Google, so maybe there are some vBulletin owners around?

    a) For how long does vBulletin store IP-addresses for board messages?
    b) Does vBulletin store login IP? If so, for how long?
    c) Does vBulletin log registration IP?
    d) Does vBulletin keep a log of user's email addresses?
    e) Is any of this information lost when updating vBulletin?

    Thanks.

    a) forever
    b) yes, not sure how long
    c) yes it does
    d) yes it needs to for user/pass reset
    e) not sure, doubt it

That's the best I can come up with, I may be wrong ;) Why do you want to know anyway? Setting up your own forum?

Nah, before I became security & privacy conscious I used to be a massive poster on this sports forum. Didn't really have any self-moderation and posted about highly personal matters, potentially identifying information, etc. I've gone back and sanitized my account the best I could, edited messages into gibberish and changed my email into something disposable. I'm just curious about how much stuff they might still have on me.

Regarding email addresses, I found this from 2008:
    http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/foru...re-sales-questions/295878-user-e-mail-history

So that's a relief, since I originally used my firstname(at)firstnamelastname.org address to register. I'd still like to know about b & e. :thumb:
