    @TheMozart

    That's the point of "cloud computing", servers on the Internet do the bulk of the work that normally your machine would do

    So, to answer your question; yes, the "virus definition files" are located on their server.

    Unfortunately, you also need to be online when you run the HMP scanner.

    Hope this helps!

    ...and yeah I believe we're all off-topic already.

    Not totally off-topic. ClamAV for Windows (CAV-W) is an in-the-cloud AV. It has MUCH better protection than ClamWin -- because of CAV-W's community aspects.

    I have a question regarding ClamWin AV and Immunet.
    I tryed this antivirus few weeks ago ,for scanning purposes.
    After uninstalling i ve saw some leftovers in the registry relating to Softwin and BitDefender.No BD product was installed previously.So my presumption is that Clam AV left this behind ,so whats the relationship between Clam AV and BD ?
    At some moment someone ( an admin i think) on the romanian forum of BD did a research regarding Clam AV ,again i don t know if there is a relationship.
    So can anyone enlight me ?! Curiosity kills me overhere :)

    Hi TheMozart,

    You can do a custom installation of AntiVir Personal 10 and only check Scanner component.
    Or you can use the new Avira AntiVir Command Line Scanner ScanCL available here (there is a manual included in the archive explaining how it works).
