I'm not aware they have one

GData uses the Avast & BitDefender engines for their 'home user' products, so instead you may want to submit your samples to BD and/or virus[AT]avast.com

I change yesterday from IS to only GDATA AV 2009. Reason? Well i was reading under the firewall section of the forum and there are all sorts of links to different tests ou can run. I tried a couple of them and my firewall allow everything to pass.

So i installed GDATA AV and Comodo firewall 3.5 and every single test i took it detected and blocked! So i have learn something i belive.

Learn something? Well, I guess it depends on the value you place on leak tests.

To me it looks they use AVIRA engine... same detection naming...
    Is it possible?

Normally i dont care about leaktests. But this was a keylogger test that started a application that a firewall normaly should ask you about. It did not and it failed. The same with other types of keyloggers, hijackers, trojandroppers.

But after installing comodo I at least get a question about this program and if I want to allow or block it. But I`m not an expert i just felt it was ok to switch back to comodo firewall.

FAX: GDATA uses bitdefender&avast as scanning engines!

    Hi,

just in case someone speaks German, there is a beta test every year at Rokop Security forums.
If you participate in this beta test, you can have a G Data license for free.

This is a link to the post from the G Data member from the last beta test.
    http://www.rokop-security.de/index.php?showtopic=17081&st=224
Free license, please choose AV, IS or TS... *puppy*

    Good luck next year. ;)

    Cheers

    Here you are Ford:

    http://www.testmypcsecurity.com/securitytests/firewall_test_suite.html

    http://www.matousec.com/projects/security-software-testing-suite/

I had my settings on maximum security both on the firewall and in the antivirus part where you can sett the security level.

Please let me know the results of your test on this, maybe i have done something wrong in my settings?!! :D

GData uses the avast & bidfefender engines. What do you mean by 'same detection naming'?

Well, I saw a malware test were the only two antivirus able to detect the malware were AVIRA and GDATA and the name of the malware was the same... this is typical for clones.

But I can't find anymore the test :(
    May be I just dreamed!

    Cheers,

    Thank you.
Probably reviewers confused or mistaken those names. I'd still like to see that test, so if you find it again please post back :)

ehm, no they were virustotal screenshot... the tester was altering sligtly the malware code to see how many engines would still detect it... at the end only AVIRA and GDATA were detecting it.

If I find it back I will post... but users of GDATA could easily confirm...

    Cheers,
