    Hi everybody.

I have installed GDATA TotalCare 2009, German version. But I have found some problems which are:

    1. Firewall doesn't work at all although it is installed.

    2. Tuner icon doesn't work.

Do you have any solution for this problem?

When will the English version be released?

    Hmm

I'm a reseller & received a spam emailshot about this product. I just assumed that it was a rogue AV & blacklisted the domain.

Is it actually a real product?

    Still no ENG version o_O
I am guessing they will release German version and then have a small scale beta for other languages.

I was joking as I of course checked before my posting. However it's an interesting marketing move to spam resellers don't you think?

I have just installed the UK version supplied by gGata's UK distributor, which I received on 30 October 2009 and it was successfully installed.

I could not use my recently purchased Gdata TotalCare 2008 on a desktop which was previously using Gdata Internet Security 2007 due to GUI errors, but after using the Gdata removal download, the installation of the 2009 version went without a hitch.

I installed the TotalCare 2008 version on a new desktop without any problems.

The UK distributor has been superb with his help in trying to resolve my previous problems and I was notified by Matt Baker at Infinite Business the day the 2009 version had arrived in the UK which I successfully downloaded.

I hope that this is of help.

Glad to hear that Jerome, the official 2009 english versions are not available publicly from their websites yet.
I have a new subscription for the AV and waiting for its release.

German version is official. The English version was stuck at RC2. Needs some translation .

    Hi Matt,
Could you answer a question for me with regard to the license model of G-Data.
We run servers with multiple OS/Virtualization, now would I require a single license for the hardware or multiple license for each environment ?

    Thanks.:thumb:

    Hi Vijayind

With G DATA you would only need licences for the hardware - Also of interest, there is no seperate "server" licence it's included in the overall machine numbers.

The mail security products are per machine and NOT per mailbox - which is also a saving oversome of the competition !

If you would like a free trial on any of the business products - Please mail me.

    Thanks

IIRC this has been debated before... Kaspersky only license ancient outdated versions of their engine to third-party vendors.

    Thanks, Matt.
I will submit a proposal to evaluate GData at work. Since I am not in UK, I think I'll have to contact GData Global or my local GData partner for evaluation and price quotation.

Thanks again, for your response. Really appreciated :thumb:

I haven't had a chance to install the trial yet. Anyone know if the 2009 trial provides updates to the virus defs? IIRC, previous versions would not update.
