Some time back when i tried fsis 2007 i had to reformat. Maybe the installation conflicted with former av or firewall residu. However was 2 scared of trying it again. I did have 2006 running for some period but onfortunetly it slowed down
startup of programs 2 much but i guess that's in the past for fsis at least i hope.

Do they still run adaware engine?

I agree. If anything FSIS taught me it wasn't the number of processes being used but how those processes affected performance that determined "bloatness" in a AV. Trend Micro IS has 9 processes and I didn't feel an impact either with it.

How would you compare the new FSIS 2008 with KIS 7?

I prefer F-Secure to KIS any day, especially now. As far as processes and comparing to older versions, lets just say, well. lets just say 9/3/07.:D

Ι also used FSIS 2007 for a while and I was pretty happy but It really bothered me that it had MANY processes running and the slow system startup! I hope that this is fixed! Also it wasa very slow during full system scan...

put it this way f-secure 2006 had 19 processes
    2007 version has 13 processes
hopefully 2008 has like 7 or less.

With every new version , let's remove 6 processes :D
    19-x=13 ? 13-x=7 ? :D :D :thumb: (joking)

Just about the *only* reason I do not use F-Secure is the fact that it is too pricey for my pockets....Apart from that, it is an excellent product!!!! :)

I do not know if you can use ebay, but sometimes FS goes pretty cheap there. There are some good buys there now.

I also think it is as good as any, even including KIS. The only complaint I ever had was the slow loading at start.

    Jerry

True but if they take out some of the unless engines and optomize it for a faster startup it could be a really decent light suite.

Howdy sailor, is that a box of Cuban cigars in your pocket, or are you just happy to meet me.:(

My PC sucks and that is all there is to it. Norton is the only thing that works and updates correctly.

Hey, Jeff. Why not just ditch your computer, buy a new one, and use FSIS? o_O

Just think of the stress and shortened life that a bad computer causes. You owe it to your family to reduce the stress and buy a new computer. It is for them.

What was the contract penalty for changing AV/Avatar? I don't seem to remember.

    Regards,
    Jerry
