I installed Webroot Firewall yesterday and have ran many stealth testing by shields up!, pcflank etc. And it passed everything :) It even passed the pcflank leak test.

Just wanted to let you all know what a good firewall Webroot seems to be.

Passing leak and stealth 'tests' aren't going to make you more secure. A stealthed port is no more secure than a closed port. As for leaktests, theres plenty of discussion on these forums on how these tend to be makreting motivated rather than anything else.

Theres no such thing as 100% secure, but it's "more" secure than having a firewall which fails these tests.

Do you have some facts to support this statement? If you do, by all means please enlighten us.
Or is it just the hearsay thing....?

Nick, firstly, your condescending remarks do not phase me at all.

Secondly, do you have any proof my statements are in err?

Your methods of testing firewalls is in err. These port scans are the most basic tests which many of the popular firewalls are specifically designed to pass. There are many more things to consider when evaluating a firewall. You seem to have missed those...

As for leaktests, if you want to pass them, get a HIPS.

Your understanding of basic statements are in err. I already pass leaktests as my other posts reveal. If you had have read my posts properly, then you would have realised that, maybe, depending on your comprehension ability.

Apparently you missed his point (which was that leak tests are not testing firewall functionality, but HIPS instead).

I couldn't help but laugh since you're completely missing the point and criticizing his comprehension ability.
