    Ladies and Gents,

    As you may have noticed, the number of registered members over on this board is growing rapidly - especially taking into account we are one of the very few boards on the web allowing guests to post without an obligation to sign up as a member.

    30,000 registered members is a milestone in this context, and as a token from our appreciation to all members who signed up, we are giving away - at random of course - free one-year software licenses as well as free one-year hosting packages. In effect:

    100 free personal licenses for NOD32;
    25 free personal licenses for Port Explorer;
    15 free personal licenses for RegDefend;
    10 free personal licenses for CryptoSuite;
    10 free personal licenses for LooknStop;
    5 basic yearly accounts for LiquidWeb shared servers.

    At random drawing from the lucky winners will take place somewhere on April 14th. 2005. All who are registered over here as a member at that time will participate in this give away, with exception from those very few being banned from this board.

    Some additional information:

    1. We will filter out possible double memberships from one and the same person. Signing up once or more will not double chances to win;

    2. Email addresses that do bounce for whatever reason are out of competition;

    3. Winners who have not replied to our email stating they are a winner within 14 days will be out of competition;

    4. Winners will be asked to provide their real name and their ISP email address. Web based email addresses are not allowed.

    5. In order to inform all registered members, all will receive an email about this give away.

    Finally, our decisions as for this give away are not open for discussion.

    We do hope you will appreciate this initiative and wish you luck!

    On behalf of our staff,

    Paul Wilders

    It's a matter of principle to avoid conflicts of interest on this board. We easily could have doubled or tripled the number at the least of free licenses in this context taking your route - Dr. Web, KAV, you name them. We have chosen to host just one AV/AT/Firewall etc. support forum over here. Thus, taking the straight forward route we do provide free licenses for those only as well. I'm pretty sure other security software vendors do have the means and possibilities to do one and the same over on their support forums.

    Up front, plain and straight forward is the way we run this place. Hope you do understand.

    regards,

    paul

    Just one quick question:

    Why not allow web-based email addresses for the winners?

    Just curious.

    So, if web based email addresses are not allowed for winners, does that mean I have to change my email address with you which is web based in order to be eligible for the drawing? The wording you used about this is confusing.

    I think it is great that Wilders is close to 30,000 members! I also think it very commendable that Wilders, like dslr, allows anon posts. I wish more sites did. I bet most anon posters end up members anyhow once they see how great this site is (and dslr too) and they are not discouraged when they first come here by having to join to post.

    All the goodies look neat! I only wish Process Guard was among them! :D

    Oleg,

    Dr. Web is not a bad AV. On the contrary, IMHO, it is a very good one. Paul explained in #10 why and what is being offered.
