I'm looking for a free tool that works well on Windows 7 64-bit, that scans either my entire system or specific directories for file changes by building a MD5/SHA-1 checksum of each file and then compares the list for any changes.

Something on-demand would be nice. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

I started a thread sometime ago about tools that compute hash values. https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=295658

Two I liked so far were FileVerifier++ and MultiHasher. The latter has drag and drop functionality. Both have command line versions; so, you can schedule a task that could do what you want. Give them a try.
