Ran upon a AskWoody post where a user was discussing Macrium Reflect to do with compression values and ETA's of backup images from various angles of personal preferences. Does anyone here use it as a supplement or other second opinion imager? It's said to be fully compatible with Windows although it is a LINUX based process. Curiosity got the better of me when stumbling onto this program. Of Note: On very rare occasions i still use Linux Mint Portable on a UFD to sometimes extract difficult Windows NTFS locked folders/files which refuse to delete. This is provided a 100% success history each time it's been called up to perform that task. Yet i have never used a Linux-based backup Imager/Restore program given the great choices long already available for our Windows Systems. There are two versions of the iso: The standard version is based on ubuntu 18.04 (bionic) has a 5.4 kernel and is suitable for all PCs manufactured before 2019. The focal version, based on ubuntu 20.04, has a 5.15 kernel and is intended for newer PCs. https://foxclone.org/index.html
It should work with Windows NTFS file system. I'm a Linux Mint user and I use Clonezilla (from a live USB) to backup partitions (/ and /home). Clonezilla can also backup Windows systems (it has a bare-bones interface, which can be intimidating). It uses the same components that are under the hood of Foxclone.
