flash and shockwave

Hi, i do a imedia course and wanted to show my parents some of the little files i made in flash professional 8.

they are shockwave flash objects.
but the files open in flash player but dont play.
i just installed shockwave player but that didnt help.
any ideas how i can get the files to play?

some of my files play but my main one doesn't
it was just basic text coming in one letter at a time using motion tweening.
it must be quite simple.
they played fine at college.
