Also use the link below for additional assistance. You can tell that Bootit is a very mature software due to the small number of updates in 2005 and 2006. Currently running 1.76 with 800KB installation footprint.

I own TI6 Server. It appears that the latest version of TI9 Home has turned into bloatware. 75MB download for an imaging program. Unreal! Dunno if the trial version is fully unlocked for evaluation.

No problem. Also make sure that you can write at high-speed to an external HDD because Bootit NG's average processing speed is around 1400MB/min on a modern PC. PATA or SATA is faster n more stable than USB 2.0. Some boards also tend to lock-up with HI-SPEED USB 2.0, especially those with NF4 based chipsets. It's best to shut down the PC BEFORE swapping the USB connector. I only hot plug USB mouse and keyboard.

Bootit has a superb upgrade policy...FREE from 1.00 to 1.99. That's 2000 to 2006, and still going strong!

Read the manual carefully and watch the vids re installing BING

You may have a deep understanding of the boot.ini file and MBR or not?
furballi's advice is accurate but attenuated somewahat :)

On Treabyte web page you can dl the files to create a boot floppy or CD for BING and access virtually all the functions from the boot media (other than user configured multi-boot set ups that can be made with BING actually installed)

If you install BING to its' custom partition you are givinh BING boot control. There are many other apps that also want MBR control and there have been conflicts: cf: Rollback, FDISR, other boot managers, other imaging apps and I think some security apps. Be careful.

Create the boot media and reboot to see the screen options and get a feel for using the partition work setup for imaging, resizing and creating partitions etc. You can boot to different OSs if you wish through the boot disc as well if you like , just more complex.

If (and there are many happy users who do this) you want to install to the special partition you can do so later.
    Look at these: http://www.heffy.com/image.htm
Check the vids on the web site here: http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/support.html

The instruction as to create the BING boot media are on the web site.
If you have previously made the IFD boot disc you will have no problem

    Good Luck
