Thanks for the link ! Also waiting for Mrk's comments ...

BTW, the first comment in the link was this:
And this comment, a little lower down offers an explanation for why the "classical" choice won't be there:
Actually, I don't mind Unity at all but that maybe because I'm new at the game and don't have much attachment to other environments. (I did run Mint 11 (Gnome) for a while.)

Looks pretty good for those who like Unity and the changes they're making. I personally don't mind Unity at all. Hopefully things will become more polished and complete in the 11.10 release. I'm looking forward to it...

Your statement holds a lot of truth to it, I believe. The "old-timers", like me, have grown attached to Gnome 2.* and hate to see it go. Kerodo is obviously more progressive in his mindset even though he's been a linuxer for quite a while himself. Unity is tolerable but I still think it sucks. I actually tried to like it. I guess my biggest complaint is that Unity is not very tweak-able as of right now.

BTW, I tried 11.10 beta a couple of days ago. I found it rather buggy.

    Later...

I didnt care for 11.04 at all. Not that I disliked unity for what it was trying to bring it just wasnt polished enough. I am running the 11.10 beta and although there are some minor issues its definitely more polished. I am liking it so far... Will see... There are some exciting changes coming to the linux desktop environment.

more than 20 crashed in 10 mins :D

they only things that really sucks most about this OS is stability and stupidity its worst then even premature kde or ubuntu 11.04 its sucks even more every thing crashed from software center to firefox ..........running it on 2d mode :D

click on fonts its show Gimp next time its show virtual machine, i give it 3rd try is show startup disk creater i give it in dash bar (unity stupid menu) LOOOL

search something its shows something else :D

search screenshot it give you blank go to accessories get all then only u able to take a screenshot your desktop funny no :D

ubuntu restricted extra took 98 mb to download so those who have less speed connection like me go and make yourself a cup of coffee for a while :)

last for my point of view

its nothing more than eye candy idiot BOX

and if you want me to rate it i give it 3.8 all because of eyecandy stuff

still i say no to ubuntu 11.10 may be i install kubuntu 11.10 but not this one unless its stable and stop its idiot stuff :D

Ouch, not even going to try it myself. Been using Ubuntu fine for years and only since 11.04 have I had issues, mainly not being able to boot the thing...

My foot is firmly in Mint, it works flawless and using it feels superior to Ubuntu from my perspective.

The omission of synaptic is unfortunate but then there is always good old and super fast cli. I have used software center and haven't had any crashes but it does put a good load on my 1GHz CPU, both cores do heavy duty when software center is running on the EeePC. As for crashes, not a single one in Ubuntu 11.04, I use xswat flgrx drivers and the system has been rock stable with no surprises.

What?! Getting rid of leftovers just became harder...

Anyhow, I think I'll upgrade, after a drive image.
