Firewire 1394 FYI

I've been researching some issues relating to Acronis TI 7, found this forum, saw lots of discussions on firewire external drives (possible relation to my problems.)

Disentangle the origins of the issues, and it will be easier to solve the problems.

I've used - and still use - Ghost and DriveImage for about 7 years. All of these products have rough spots, weaknesses, etc. There are some REALLY expensive alternatives out there, made and priced for companies which CANNOT lose their data. The rest of us cobble together our redundant back up and restore using multiple tools, of which (for me) Acronis is one.
