I have a question on the way detections are handled in the firewall module. I am wondering. if you have a detection come up if you will also have a notification come on the screen that says what that detection is. or if it just blocks it in the background without any notification at all.

It depens on what firewall mode you use. With interactive mode, you're prompted to allow or deny communication if no appropriate rule is found.

ok that I understand but what I was mostly wondering is like the Blocked attacks which is on the IDS portion of the firewall setup. lets take the slammer worm for example. if something like that tries to get into the computer. do you get a popup about it saying that the attack was blocked. or does it just do it silently in the background without knowing except if you have logging enabled.
