Is there a way to improve scrolling speed in Firefox? Also, wasn't there something released within Firefox semi recently to improve or quicken the rendering of pages? Thanks everyone

    In about config:
set mousewheel.acceleration.start to 1 (it can be enough to start)

set mousewheel.acceleration.factor to your taste, default is 10, (mine is 15, faster)

you can also set middlemouse.scrollbarPosition to true to use middle click within the scrollbar to scroll rapidly to top, bottom or anywhere in a webpage

If you use windows 10, you can add & set Firefox to High Performance under Parameter/System/Display/Graphic Parameters

I did it and it speeds up a little bit more page loading.

If you have 2004 update, you have also this: https://devblogs.microsoft.com/directx/hardware-accelerated-gpu-scheduling/

Got it. That is where I was. Thanks. I am on 2004 at home so may give it a go there. Still on 1909 at work but that is a personal choice.

Great! Thanks for the heads up. Set up for two machines now.

Is it OK to do the same for Chromium Edge and Brave browsers?

Did you notice much of a change Krusty? I did not.

I also do not have that option on my 2004 build machine. I assume as per the article that my hardware does not support it.

It's hard to tell, Trooper. I think it does help FF load a little faster, but it could be just my imagination too. I'd have to do some test to prove it either way. If anyone knows of one...

I've enabled FF, Chromium Edge, Brave and VLC Media Player just for good measure on both of my 2004 machines.

I hear you Krusty. Same deal, would have to test it somehow. I may check it out with some other browsers as well.

It will depend on the hardware maybe, for my part, I have a small laptop asus for windows, and I feel the difference, maybe + 5 to 10% (it's obvious) more speed for displaying web pages, starting firefox and other applications.

Heh, you guys are funny. Maybe I will bite as well. Though I don't use Firefox as often as most of you all do.

I never wait. Once it goes into the /releases folder it isn't going to change.

Yup, same here, they never do change but people like to say that anyway (these files are with last modified 7/20 3:03pm)... The /releases folder is basically a way for 3rd parties to get it a day early to prepare their own servers/uploads ahead of time. And if there was going to be a problem that required a hotfix with the build gotten a day earlier, then there would have been a problems on launch day as they are the same.
