Looking at the 74 beta release notes, I see this:
I prefer to keep my current DNS provider so I hope they don't start making these choices for me.

It's not difficult to turn off the DoH setting in Firefox, however it could be annoying depending on how many computers you use it on.

I didn't expect it to be too difficult. I just didn't want to have to deal with it at all. However I see that I can actually use this with Quad 9, so that is what I am doing. So far, so good.

I like Quad 9. There's a Quad9 android app that I'm using on my phone with good results (faster than ISP DNS). Unfortunately Firefox is not usable for me at the moment, however Quad 9 can be implemented using YogaDNS system wide :thumb:

Having come to like the idea of DoH from a security standpoint (I still don't believe it will do much for privacy, but anyway) I am disappointed to find that these settings are per user profile. Does anyone know of a way to apply settings globally for all accounts, or am I going to just have to wait for Windows 10 to support this?

Don't know if there's a way to set it globally for Firefox, but you can implement it for the whole OS via something like YogaDNS; it works quite well on Windows 10 in my experience.

Thanks for the reply. I've looked into it but as Microsoft claims they will be supporting this in an update it's too much work to set this up for multiple PCs just to remove it again when the update is released. If it were just me, maybe. For an entire office, nope.

I installed the 75 beta to check this feature out:
I don't like it. It doesn't seem to accurately reflect my actual most visited sites and there seems to be no way to remove entries from it. More unwanted clutter where I did not want or need it. I hope it can be disabled in the config but I have not yet looked into it.
