I've never used Palemoon so I can only speak under correction - but if Palemoon doesn't implement the numerous changes In Firefox (e.g. the fact that XUL will be deprecated before long as more and more parts are written in HTML instead) chances are that more and more add-ons will be incompatible, won't they?

Has anyone installed the Firefox 50.0 (b) already? What are your impressions?

I'm running the portable version (from PortableApps.com, manually updating each new Beta via its Internal Updater), and so far, so good. Smooth as always.

Electrolysis has not been turned on by default yet in my Beta 7 version, although in Fx 50 Beta 1 it stated Multiprocess Windows (0/1) Disabled by Add-ons, and now it's just (0/1) Disabled. Perhaps by the time Beta 9 arrives, I'm hoping it's active by default.

IMO the biggest feature in Firefox 50 is going to be No More Passwords over HTTP, which has been enabled starting with this version. BTW, this warning can be enabled (or disabled) in other Firefox versions by following the article's instructions.

I had forced it on in version 49 but found that it breaks Session Manager by not allowing the tabs to update regardless of its settings. I disabled it back and figure it will take a bit before the add-ons are ready to go. Otherwise, things did seem noticeably faster.

FYI. E10s/Status/Oct12 - Only 30% of the browser population has e10s turned on, so yes, it will take awhile before we see it active by default.

FYI I'm using the session manager option in TabMixPlus with e10s enabled and it works fine.

    Same.

I have 10 extensions and e10s force enabled. I also have firefox set to create a new process for each tab opened. I had a few issues on FF 48, but 49 has fixed almost all of them. It performs better than FF has ever performed for me both in terms of speed and in terms of stability.

The only issue I have is that some websites (about 3-4 Ive tried over a month now) dont work right on e10s but do work right on my backup single-process profile. This could be that my e10s profile is even more privacy-aggressive than my old profile, or it could be due to the sandbox they now have enabled and are working on.

I am shocked that such a big change could go down with such a positive result; big changes like this are usually a nightmare until the issues are ironed out.

I was pleasantly surprised too. Firefox was crashing daily starting around v47 and when I forced e10s it became very stable again. The only problem I have is with TabMixPlus tab locking; if I lock a tab the links on the page won't respond to mouse clicks. Have you tried it and does it work for you?

Wow, good catch! It does the same thing for me. I never use lock tab so it doesnt matter to me, but it certainly is a bug with e10s (works fine on my single-process backup profile).

Have you tried maybe another tab extension similar to TMP? I should note the extension Scrapbook takes quite a bit (sometimes as long as 8-10 seconds) to capture a page, but otherwise it works fine. Also, Privacy Badger doesnt show the number of trackers its blocking on its toolbar icon under e10s (though Ublock Origin's indicator works fine). Those are the only extension "issues" I've had and none are really crucial to me.

I haven't bothered to try another tab manager; TMP works so well over all that I'd rather wait a while and see if the locked tabs/links issue gets fixed. The reason I lock some sites is to force links to open in new tabs. That's convenient, but for now I just use <Ctrl> click to open links in new tabs. :thumb:

Edit: The issue of links being unresponsive on locked pages is fixed in the latest development build of TMP :)
