Firefox not displaying some GIFs properly

I use this setup...
Tor ---> Proxo ---> Privoxy
Privoxy is necessitated because Tor people said so [I'm no expert ... yet]
apparently the (referrer?) header modifications it provides result in optimum anonymity.
I use Proxo as the main web filter. Which is whwy I'm trying to see what exactly does Privoxy do... hopefully, JakBeNymble [www.kye-u.com/proxo/forums] will find it out before me 'coz I can't write filters as yet, and he's experienced in supplying fake headers

 

I'm no expert, but you are wrong here

The reason to use privoxy with firefox has nothing to do with referrers, since you can turn off referrers without using any external app. (About: config, network.http.sendRefererHeader set to o)

The real reason is that while firefox is designed to connect to socks proxies directly, it has a bug which actually causes it to do seperate DNS lookups without going through TOR. This can compromise your privacy.
