Hi Arup... I set it identified as Opera, but still its slower than Firefox.

Anyway, here are the memory usage of my three browsers... they are idle and not yet connected to dial-up net connection. Really, Firefox eats up a lot... :doubt: its a "voracious" eater.

I've gone back to Firefox 1.07 until they get a handle on the memory problems.

Yep... I checked mine and it was running at 68-69k normally and peak. [with 12 tabs open]

I minimised it, and watched in TM as it dropped to below 12k

Maximised it and it climbed back to 23k....

so that's good, can release memory via a minimise every once in a while.

edit: hmmm that is interesting... decided to try again and just watch in TM..

Minimised it, and it dropped this time to just over 4,000k

I left it minimised and watched TM... firefox steadily climbed back up and after only a couple of mins was up to 56k with me doing nothing, just sitting in TaskBar. Not one other app moved in that time at all, just FF.

    Hi,
I noticed that certain sites cause FF to use 50-60 cpu and lots of memory. Not so if javascript is disabled though - not spyware sites.
Normal usage for 10-15 tabs is around 50-60K.

IE minimum memory use with no active surfing( it was variable from 4.5 to 12 approx as far as I can remember). Surprisingly for firefox with 4 tabs open but no active surfing, memory usage was same as in above post.

1.5.01 here. It is better on memory usage than 1.5.
