    Hi there!

Firefox uses 120 MB of memory on my computer at system idle with only 1 tab opened! I'm currently using v14.0.1. Is this normal? Anyone having the same situation like mine?

    Thanks.

145mb just opened FF (1tab). So I guess yours is ok. Some installed addons might affect the memory consumption too

Hopefully when Firefox 15 gets released next week, there should be a significant reduction in memory leaks that have been an ongoing issue with the browser. Much progress has been made in this regard over the past year, but from reading posts of users of 15 betas, this release should be something special.

In my case, Firefox 15, latest beta, with one tab opened, 138 MB. With 7 tabs, 278 MB (both including the Flash plugin processes).

IE9 (my default) with 9 tabs opened, 736 MB.

I don´t think memory usage is important, at least as it doesn´t impact negatively other processes.

Well, no fence, if you have a high specs computer, maybe it won't be a major problem :doubt:

Firefox 14.01 with 4 opened tabs

but the same Firefox with the same tabs optimized and opened by Firemin

This program drastically reduces memory usage and can be useful on old, not so strong machines.
