"The biggest change for this release is the Home page which you can get to by typing home in the address bar."

Weird, when I type 'home' in the address bar, I get my 2wire router/firewall system page.

    "home" or "about:home"?

Got it. I just typed 'home' like the article said and got my router, but when I typed about:home I get the new page. Thanks for the heads up!

They should have put about:home in the article to save confusion like this.

about:home is the default Firefox home page.

On CNET they said that 13 would include a 'reset' button for firefox, to basically restore FF to a brand new state without losing bookmarks, history and (I think) addons, but I see no mention in that article?

I think the most obvious thing is the new home page, not necessarily the biggest change.

It's not even possible to do, so whomever told you that or started the rumor either screwed around in other areas of the system (maybe deleting registry entries/files) or is completely making it up. From the time it was Phoenix up until now, I've never heard of this.

Edit: Holy lord, lol, it actually has happened: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=656192&start=30. Back in 08, this was evidently an issue with Profile Manager (is that even still used?). This and one other link that links to this one are all that I've found with a quick Google. That's both hilarious and fail if it actually has done that.

Honestly, I'm not making this up. ;)

    *ROTFL* See ... I told ya! :D

Yeah, it's pretty scary. I first started using Firefox regularly in '08. Someone also told me that this issue hasn't been properly fixed. So, this new button could be a really good thing.

Waterfox 13 is supposed to be released Monday evening, but Mr Alex claims that due to the Jubilee weekend this may be later. I can wait. You'd have thought that Mozilla would have got the UK release done for the Jubilee. I hear that the Queen is a Firefox fan. ;)

That's for making sure it wouldn't clash with Google's Chrome.

    Maybe Tuesday?

"Updated Although its official release date is not scheduled until this Tuesday, Firefox 13 is now available on the Mozilla website."

"We found what appear to be for all intents and purposes the final Windows, Mac, and Linux release candidates for Firefox 13 on Mozilla's site, but the company didn't immediately respond to our request for confirmation.

Perhaps they're off celebrating QE II's Diamond Jubilee. ®

    Update

Apparently the Mozillans were not, as we had speculated, off lifting a pint or three to the queen. A spokesman got back to us after this story was first published, saying about the status of the versions we linked to above, "That build is still under testing. We will let you know when it is officially live tomorrow."

I can wait until Tuesday. Actually, it already is in Europe.

I've heard rumours that Google soon plan to do a major upgrade number for Chrome every other day that has a 'y' in it. LOL

Ah, the diamond jubilee. Having lived briefly in England I can appreciate it. It's definitely better than what passes for political entertainment in the US LOL.

    Looking forward to Waterfox 13.

I think I may have missed the Jubilee, something to do with consuming a vast amount of real ale ...

Waterfox 13 should be soon, Firefox 13 isn't even here yet!

This is the final FX 13 version. Mozilla always puts the final build in the servers a few day(s) before announcing it to the public, to prepare the servers for a larger number of downloads.

And then, when people ask - as usual - "is it the final version?", representatives come up with that official tired answer because they simply are not yet allowed to announce it for the public.

It happens every single time.. Get used to it.

I always count on you to tell me of a new Fx release that I have to wait days to actually download. :thumb: ;)
