Trooper, make a folder on the C Drive, example: C:\PA, then download the Installer there, and run it. That is, if you are using the PortableApps version.

Yes, I have discovered quite a few things by comparing the two. Don't open them both at the same time though. It tends to confuse the profile. I'm not sure why. You can run the portable off a flashdrive or your HDD. JRViejo's advice about making a new folder is right, especially if you are running Vista/Win 7, as saving to Program Files apparently causes problems with the UAC. It is best to make a new folder. I do this with a few PortableApps programs.

    Hi guys,

Well I tried it and guess what? Still happens! So what on this machine could be causing the issue? Would Eset or WSA be a player for this?

Do you have time to remove one or the other to see if either is the cause?

This is a typical reason why I keep my security as simple as possible. I've considered ESET & other additions but in these days of rapid upgrading cycles conflicts are all too common.

Trooper, one last thought: Options > Advanced > Network Tab > Connections > Settings.. button. Is No Proxy selected?

Honestly, you'd be better off using Firefox Support rather than the troll-fest that is mozillaZine.

Will try the forums guys. Thanks so much for your help and advice so far.

I still may try uninstalling Eset and WSA just to see.

Choose what ever support board that suits your needs best, Trooper.
I don't think removing ESET is really necessary but do what you think is required to resolve your issue.

    Keep us posted.

Indeed. Took way to long to figure out a browser issue though. :D

    Cheers.

Except it wasn't a browser issue.
Let us render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's, and let us render unto Eset that which is Eset's, eh?
