    As far as I know you can continue to use RVS 2008 for as long as you want, with one caveat. You must have kept the installer package for that version. Why? Because, every time your free version expires you will have to uninstall and then reinstall it to renew the license for another year.

    I'd like to get rid of the splash screen, too. What good does it do to hide the tray icon and desktop toolbar if a large splash screen hits you in the face?
