Customer renewed for 1 year of service.
System doesn't update. She has tried using both her new and old user names and passwords. The window just keeps reopening itself, or else it says "file not found".
Her server was www.eset.sk; I asked her to add www.nod32.com and www.esetsoftware.com and to try them instead.
Turns out she was locked out of Control Center. Unlocked her; asked her to try again - no success. This was last night, when the servers were having some problems, so I asked her to try again today. Still said "File not found".
I'm out of ideas - anyone have any?
    Rob

    Hi Rob,

Uninstall Nod, clean out the registry, reboot, reinstall Nod, reboot, and you should be fine ;)

    Hi Rob,

Just try and find as much registry entries Nod has made during install and delete the entries, reboot, reinstall Nod and you should be fine.

Okay, I'll tell her to do that.
If you have time, what's the rationale behind this fix?
    thanks, Rob

Rob, when you uninstall Nod, it leaves some registry entries behind which will prevent the good entries to be added to te registry and so not operating well.

You can also try a free registry cleaner, i mostly use Regclean provided by Microsoft, you can find it at cnet.com.

When you install Nod, please do install the latest Nod download from eset's download page for it has important updates prior to earlier Nod's.

    rgds,
    Martin

No, I mean the rationale behind uninstalling to fix the "File not found". Do you suspect a corrupt file, or a bad registry entry?
With the trouble eset had with its update servers earlier today, I thought maybe there was a problem at that end.

    Sorry about that,

Yes, it can be a bad registry enty, but when you install latest Nod, you would be fine.

P.S. Are you clairvoyant? How did you know what version she was using?
