I need a great file manager for my iPhone 5s. With lots of features. Move, copy, create, rename folders etc.....

I have problems when sync pictures and movies from my pc, iTunes. Right now I have pictures on my iPhone I cannot delete. When sync from iTunes the pictures have been put in many different folders. The name of the folders created is the date when pictures was taken. I did not create those folders.

That is why I want a third party file manager that can make it easy to create backup or sync with pc. I dont like the inbuilt Apple solution. I ended up with two copies of the pictures on my phone and thats when my problem started.

I have documents by Readdle it's solid.
But your need for copying and pasting files doesn't exist in iOS. The system and it's apps are sandboxed so the only way to share apps is through Dropbox.

Ok. Not sure if I understand. This is my first iPhone. I use iTunes and I have synced with iCloud.

I just want easy way to manage photo and videos. Have backup on pc. Sometimes I need to transfer photos to pc, look through the photos and delete some of them. And then transfer back to my phone. I have never tried Dropbox.

When you transfer files from one device to another will Readdle tell you if one or more files already exist, so you can avoid double copies? I might try it.

I tried two apps now. Readdle Documents and File Manager Free. None of them could delete my photos or folders. Something must be wrong with my iPhone.

I hate iOS due to such issues, a simple transer of data in and out is made hell by Apple.

Can you delete them from iTunes? How did you try to delete, but failed, them on your iPhone?

If you use a file manager, it will be the only program able to access what you put there. You can share some things like pictures to other programs (via the photo gallery), but it's very limited.

You could try jailbreaking for direct access to the filesystem, but I don't have knowledge of that route.

I am not a computer novice anymore. But still I cannot delete from iTunes. I dont know how to. I cannot see my iPhone photos in iTunes. Cannot find them. I thaught Apple and IOS was the userfriendly way. But no. This was easier with my old Nokia N8......

This expensive Apple **** is almost useless!

The way I tried to delete photos from iPhone is the normal way. Mark the photos and then touch the trash can symbol to delete. I can do this with new photos in the camrea roll. But not with other photos. I also have an empty folder I cannot delete.

When I mark the photos the trash can symbol is greyed out, not blue as it is supposed to be.

tepe2: You have found just one of the reasons I don't like Apple. Control of files on an iPhone or iPad is ridiculous! (My biggest reason for loathing Apple is the iTunes program itself. IMO, some viruses are nicer! (and I really do mean that!))

I help support mobile phones at work and for friends. In every case, the iPhones are always the ones I struggle with because they are Apple's way or the highway.

I run a Samsung Galaxy S III (which is older now.) I have none of these kinds of issues with it at all. (I often joke I'd marry it if I could!)

It's actually really simple. Get a hammer and destroy your iPhone, and then replace it with an Android phone, and you won't have such problems :D

But, on a more serious note, CopyTrans Manager is free and should do what you need. I have used it personally when dealing with iDevices and it does work well, and has saved me from having to install iTunes, which can only be a good thing in my opinion.

Does CopyTrans Manager work with photos too? I briefly looked over its abilities and didn't see that capability. (Of course I probably missed it!)

    Thanks.

CopyTrans Manager is free and theres also CopyTrans Photo, not free but if it works Im happy to pay for it. Do I download to my pc and install or it has to be installed on my phone?

I did manage to delete the photos on my phone. I found some help in Apple forum. I had to sync from an empty folder. But I am not happy with iTunes. I think it will give me more problems in future. So I might try CopyTrans.

Anyone tried this?: http://www.flash-video-soft.com/ipod-to-computer/ or this one: http://download.cnet.com/4Media-iPod-to-PC-Transfer/3000-2141_4-10786607.html#rateit

Dropbox is your answer. That is what I use. It automatically backs up the pics you take. You don't have to do anything yourself, all automatated. Then you just open those pics on your computer. You can view and edit them wherever you like phone or computer. That's the only reason I use the NSAbox cough cough Dropbox.
