If a malware steals a file, encrypted with File Defender, can the thief READ the stolen file ?

The reason why I'm asking this :
I worked with TrueCrypt for awhile and TC encrypts indeed, but once the encrypted container/volume is MOUNTED, all your files can be stolen and the thief can read them.
TC protects you against PHYSICAL THEFT, for instance a burglar in your house, but it doesn't protect you against ON-LINE THEFT, unless the encrypted container/volume is DISMOUNTED constantly.

    What about File Defender ?

I agree with your conclusion, but on a positive note for TrueCrypt, it's an “open source” program (unlike File Defender which is proprietary). However, I don't know if FD would provide the protection that TC lacks.

That was my question, so I still don't have an answer. :D
I hope you agree with me that the chance of on-liine theft is alot bigger than physical theft.

Still no answer to my question, it must be a secret or they don't know or my question is too difficult. :)

Yes it is, but you are too late to download File Defender.
