I just tried to install my copy of FDISR on my new Vista notebook, and it wouldn't let me. It seems the install file is the old version, then I had an extra update installer that made it the 202 build. How the heck am I going to install this now? There isn't anyplace to get the whole install file except the link given at the start of this thread. If I download that one, how does it know I already paid for it?

If you bought it from Raxco email them, and ask them for a link to the full version. I had the same problem, and they sent me a link and it was fine.

Are you not able to type run> services.msc and stop it from there?

In xp you can only access the C:\$ISR\0\ folder in safe mode.

Edit.. Of course this means the service isn't loaded as you are in safe mode!

    @mata7
    Is this what you want?
Open a Command Prompt and enter the following:
You can then access the snapshot folders etc and change various things o_O

    To restart the service:
Back in the Command Prompt enter:
    Be careful in there.
You should have a REALLY good reason to be fooling with those files.

    HTH.

Why don't you just pass along the link? It would be faster.

Probably because if the link was like mine, it is time limited and just for you. Something like 24 or 48 hours.

I have the Raxco version 3.20 Build 202. I have no problems with First Defense that I am aware of. Is there any need to update? If there was a reason to update ,how would I be be able to?

I received a response from Raxco today, stating, that FDISR folks who purchased FDISR from them would get updates from them.

Does that mean that we have to send an email to Raxco to received the 3.21.205 version of FD-ISR?

    Thanks,

I have this option and I still have my order, email and password.
OK. I can login. The only thing I see is my old invoice, no download of the latest version. The download-link results in nothing.

I don't know as they have an update yet. I actually didn't ask that. We may not need that update if we have 202.

Well, I try it and I can redownload my FD-ISR but wich version will I redownload exactly (there is no indication in this regard)? I have the impression that this is not the 3.21.205 version... Any confirmation about wich version exactly we will redownload?

    Thanks,
    Atomas31

Thanks' Peter, I also believe that we may not need this new version if we got version 202 but nevertheless, since some like me have paid to received free update/upgrade (maintenance service), it would be nice to have what we paid for :D

Not to worry, I have no doubts that we will. Remember even when their were upgrades Raxco always was behind.

Not that anyone can't have problems, but in general, I've found Raxco to be a class act, and I don't think we have anything to worry about. Heck I've gotten better service from Raxco since they dropped FDISR, then from other companies who still sell their own product.
